This Thanksgiving, we’re reflecting on the incredible dogs and families who’ve touched our hearts. Say hello to Duke (7.5) and Bronco (10/11), two special pups whose love and loyalty inspire us. Though we met them briefly at our flagship Le Pup Café, their story and spirit left a lasting impression, reminding us why we’re so grateful for furry friends like them.
Bronco: A Love at First Sight
In the summer of 2014, Bronco’s family visited The Animal Foundation and found him waiting. His sweet, soulful eyes said it all—he needed to come home with them. Since then, Bronco has been the family’s sunshine. His happiest moments are spent lounging in the backyard, soaking up the sun, and chasing lizards with all the enthusiasm of a pup.
Duke: A Gift of Healing
Duke joined the family in 2017, during a time of grief. After the loss of their mom in May, Duke arrived as a surprise in July, bringing light and healing during a challenging time. Duke quickly became more than just a companion; he’s a calming presence and a true source of comfort.
Mom Says
"Bronco is my sunshine—always watching over us, lounging in the sun, or chasing lizards. Duke, on the other hand, is my calm, loving partner in our therapy dog visits. Together, we visit hospitals, universities, and fire stations, spreading comfort and joy. They’ve brought so much love into our lives, and I’m thankful for them every day."
A Special Memory at Le Pup Café
The family discovered Dog & Whistle at our flagship Le Pup Café in the Ferguson. They planned a special trip downtown just so Duke and Bronco could enjoy our fresh Sirloin Bowls. Watching them savor their meals was a joy, and it reminded us how special it is to bring happiness to pups and their humans.
Though Le Pup Café is no longer open, we’ll always treasure the memories of connecting with wonderful dogs like Duke and Bronco.
Why We’re Grateful for Duke & Bronco
As we gather this Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of how much dogs like Duke and Bronco bring to our lives. Bronco’s sunny personality and loving eyes, paired with Duke’s gentle, comforting spirit, exemplify the best of what dogs give us—loyalty, joy, and unconditional love.
