Austin, Texas, isn't just a vibrant city for humans, it's a haven for pets too! Whether you're a local or visiting with your furry friend, dogs are more than welcome in plenty of spots. From scenic walks to pup-friendly dining, Austin has something for every dog and human companion.

1. Explore Zilker Park

Zilker Park is Austin's most iconic green space, offering 350 acres for outdoor fun. The park has designated off-leash areas where dogs can run free, meet new friends, and enjoy the sunshine.

Pro Tip:

Visit early or later in the evening to avoid the heat during warmer months.

2. Walk Along Lady Bird Lake Trail

This 10-mile trail winds around Lady Bird Lake, offering stunning skyline views and plenty of shaded paths. Dogs must stay on leash, but there are water fountains and dog-friendly rest stops along the way.

3. Hang Out at Yard Bar

We're excited to announce our collaboration with Yard Bar in Austin, Texas for a Pooch and Paint event on March 9, 2025! Yard Bar blends a fenced-in dog park with a laid-back bar for humans, where pups can play while owners enjoy craft beers, cocktails, and snacks. It's the perfect spot for socializing, both dogs and humans!

4. Snap a Photo at Jo's Coffee

Grab a cup of coffee and strike a pose with your pup at the famous "I Love You So Much" mural on South Congress Avenue. This iconic photo spot welcomes dogs on their patio.

5. Shop at The Domain

This outdoor shopping center is one of the most pet-friendly malls in Austin. Many stores allow dogs inside, and several restaurants have dog-friendly patios where your pup can relax while you dine.

6. Cool Off at Barton Springs Spillway

While dogs aren't allowed in the main Barton Springs Pool, the nearby spillway area is a popular spot for dogs to splash and cool off in the water.

7. Dine at Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden

This laid-back spot features food trucks, craft beer, and a spacious outdoor seating area that's perfect for pups. Dogs are welcome on the patio, making it a great place to unwind.

Plan Your Paw-some Adventure

Austin is one of the best cities to explore with your pup. Whether you're hiking, dining, or just soaking in the sights, there's no shortage of pet-friendly activities. Pack some treats, grab a leash, and get ready to discover the best of Austin!
